Living Alone
"The lunatic is the man who lives in a small world but thinks it is a large one; he is the man who lives in a tenth of the truth, and thinks it is the whole. The madman cannot conceive any cosmos outside a certain tale or conspiracy or vision."
G. K. Chesterton
Does it mean that a lunatic is a man who can not see interconnections among all on the world?
Does it mean that a lunatic is living on his own vision and believes only on his visions?
Does it mean that a lunatic is a person who is solitaire?
328. If a man find a prudent companion who walks with him, is wise, and lives soberly, he may walk with him, overcoming all dangers, happy, but considerate.
329. If a man find no prudent companion who walks with him, is wise, and lives soberly, let him walk alone, like a king who has left his conquered country behind,--like an elephant in the forest.
330. It is better to live alone, there is no companionship with a fool; let a man walk alone, let him commit no sin, with few wishes, like an elephant in the forest.
(Dhammapada XXIII, 328 - 330)
Can it be that a lunatic might think that he finds no prudent companion who walks with him is wise and lives soberly?
Can it be that it’s merely because a lunatic wants to commit no sins?
I begin to feel like being a lunatic.
What if the cosmos outside a certain tale or conspiracy or vision that has made that man lunatic?
That he understands all those, and that made him to be a lunatic.
Tell me!!
